STOP PRESS: GREAT EXCITEMENT - it is now official: the pedalo pond is to be turned into a water jump for the 2012 Olympics!!!

"The course will also pass through the park's boating pond, which will be turned into a water jump. A temporary 23,000-seat arena will be built in the lower part of the park, next to the National Maritime Museum, as well as warm-up tracks, stables and possibly hundreds of ancillary buildings."

All of us who have lost frisbees will get a chance to retrieve them!

Those of us who are "pedalo crazy" will be deprived for one summer, yes, BUT the current pedalos are riciulously big

for the size of the pond and surely the very best "legacy" the olympics can leave behind for the good citizens of

Greenwich will be proper bespoke pedalos for our beloved pond.
